Even under extreme conditions, the transformer itself possesses self-extinguishing properties and will not propagate flames. Therefore, it can be installed close to electrical equipment to reduce line losses.
The windings, cast in epoxy resin, form a robust, tightly sealed unit. This effectively defends against erosion from moisture, salt spray, dust, and chemical pollutants. This capability ensures stable operation in harsh industrial settings or humid coastal areas.
Dry types eliminate concerns about oil levels or oil quality associated with oil-immersed types, and do not require oil conservators or gas relays, which makes them essentially maintenance-free. And due to their compact structure and relatively light weight, installation and deployment are more flexible and convenient.
