2. Properly Select the Capacity of the Distribution Transformer
Properly selecting the capacity of the distribution transformer is also crucial. Overloading the transformer and burning it out are crucial, as is wasted power. The capacity should be calculated based on user loads and appropriately selected. For example, a 100 kV·A distribution transformer with a power factor of 0.85 can carry an 85 kW load.
3. Strengthen Load Measurement
During peak load periods, load measurements should be regularly taken on each Satons distribution transformer, and more frequent measurements should be conducted if necessary. Distribution transformers with unbalanced three-phase currents should be adjusted promptly to prevent excessive neutral current from burning out leads and damaging user equipment. 4. Avoid installing low-voltage meter boxes on distribution transformers.
Low-voltage meter boxes installed on distribution transformer stations in remote mountainous areas should be gradually removed and replaced indoors whenever possible. For example, a few years ago, when our bureau eliminated rural areas without electricity, we installed low-voltage meter boxes in remote mountainous areas to facilitate management and prevent power loss. However, due to long-term operation, the meter box glass may become damaged, or the low-voltage terminal of the distribution transformer may become damaged and not be replaced in a timely manner. This can lead to the meter burning out due to rain and other factors, damaging the distribution transformer.
5. Properly configure high- and low-voltage fuses on distribution transformers.
Improper configuration of high- and low-voltage fuses on distribution transformers can easily cause severe overload and damage the distribution transformer. The following principles should be followed for high- and low-voltage fuse configuration: ① For transformers with a capacity below 100 kV·A, configure fuses with a current rating of 2.0 to 3.0 times the rated current; ② For transformers with a capacity above 100 kV·A, configure fuses with a current rating of 1.5 to 2.0 times the rated current; ③ The low-voltage side fuse should be configured with a slightly higher rated current.
