A box-type substation primarily consists of a multi-circuit high-voltage switchgear system, armored busbars, integrated substation automation system, communications, telecontrol, metering, capacitor compensation, and a DC power supply. Housed within a fully enclosed, portable steel structure, it is moisture-proof, rust-proof, dust-proof, rodent-proof, fire-proof, theft-proof, and heat-insulated. The mechatronic design ensures fully enclosed operation and offers the following key features:

Advanced Technology, Safety, and Reliability
The box utilizes leading domestic technology and processes. The exterior is typically constructed of galvanized steel, and the frame is constructed using standard container materials and processes, offering excellent corrosion resistance and a 20-year rust-free guarantee. The interior panels utilize aluminum alloy gussets, and the interlayer is constructed of fire-resistant and heat-insulating materials. Air conditioning and dehumidification are installed within the box, ensuring that the equipment is unaffected by the natural climate and external pollution, ensuring normal operation in harsh environments ranging from -40°C to +40°C. The primary equipment within the substation utilizes fully enclosed high-voltage switchgear (such as the XGN model), dry-type transformers, dry-type instrument transformers, vacuum circuit breakers, spring-operated mechanisms, rotary disconnectors, and other cutting-edge domestic equipment. These products feature a fully enclosed, fully insulated structure with no exposed live parts, ensuring zero electric shock hazards. The entire station operates oil-free, ensuring high safety. The secondary system utilizes a microcomputer-based integrated automation system, enabling unmanned operation.

High Level of Automation
The entire station features an intelligent design. The protection system utilizes a substation-based microcomputer-based integrated automation device, which is distributed and supports "four remote functions": telemetering, telesignaling, remote control, and remote adjustment. Each unit operates independently and features comprehensive relay protection functions. Operating parameters can be remotely set, humidity and temperature within the substation can be controlled, and smoke alarms can be activated remotely, meeting unmanned operation requirements. Remote video monitoring is also available upon request.

Factory Prefabrication
During the design process, designers only need to create a main wiring diagram and external equipment design based on the actual substation requirements. They can then select the manufacturer's prefabricated transformer specifications and models. All equipment is installed and commissioned at the factory, achieving factory-based substation construction and shortening the design and manufacturing cycle. On-site installation only requires positioning the substation, connecting cables between substations, connecting outgoing cables, verifying protection settings, testing transmissions, and other required commissioning. The entire substation, from installation to commissioning, takes only 5 to 8 days, significantly shortening the construction period.

Flexible Combination Options: Due to the compact structure of a box-type substation, each box constitutes an independent system, allowing for flexible configuration options. On the one hand, a fully box-type substation can be constructed entirely of box-type equipment, with all 35kV and 10kV equipment installed inside the box. Alternatively, only the 10kV switch box can be used, with the 35kV equipment installed outdoors and the 10kV equipment and control systems installed inside the box. This configuration is particularly suitable for retrofitting existing substations during rural power grid upgrades. This allows for unmanned operation, with the existing 35kV equipment remaining intact and only a 10kV switch box installed. In short, there's no fixed configuration for box-type substations; users can freely combine various configurations based on their specific needs to ensure safe operation.
